Essential Oil Basics

About Essential Oils
Essential oils have enriched lives for thousands of years, offering a variety of benefits. They are used in cosmetics, nutrition, for physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as spiritual and religious practices.

Essential oils are aromatic compounds found in flowers, leaves, bark, stems and roots of plants.

They are extracted through careful steam distillation, resin tapping, and cold pressing. The purest essential oils are far more powerful than the botanicals from which they come.

You can access the power of essential oils in many ways, but the most common practices include aromatic diffusion, topical application, and dietary consumption. These methods bring the pure essence of health-promoting botanicals to your home, family, and life.
Essential Oils can be used for many reasons:
To INSPIRE a positive emotional state
To ENHANCE your physical wellness
To AWAKEN spiritual awareness
To PURIFY your home
And so much more!

3 Ways to Use Essential Oils
Topically:
You can apply certain essential oils directly to your skin.

Some oils work best with a carrier oil such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba, to name a few.

Inhaled:
You can open a bottle of essential oils and just breathe it in, or you can add a few drops to your hands and inhale in that way.

It's very popular these days to add a few drops of essential oils to a diffuser (cold air diffuser only).

Internally:  (You may see differing opinions on essential oil ingestion.)
Only certain oils can be consumed. Make sure that any essential oils that you consume are specifically indicated on the bottle that they can be ingested safely and that they are produced by a company that you trust.

It's fun and can be nutritionally beneficial to use essential oils for cooking and food preparation.
